Where do Simply Fido colors come from?
The Pure Water Wash process is the secret to creating such charming colors. Untreated cotton thread is woven into gently flowing fabric and then brightened with nature's own plants and minerals. The fabric is then triple-washed in pure water to set the color. As a result, each toy has its own unique appearance and color variance.
Colors from Mother Nature:
- Beige is from a Chestnut Bur
- Yellow is from a Gardenia Seed
- Red is from the Madder Root
- Gray is from the Mineral Charcoal
Why Organic?
Being a consumer of organic goods means not only keeping chemicals out of the air, water and soil, but most importantly, our bodies.
One third of all the world's pesticides are used on cotton crops alone. This is not just bad for the planet as the pesticide toxins affect all levels of the food chain, but according to the World Health Organization (WHO), some 20,000 deaths occur each year from pesticide poisoning in developing countries, many being from cotton farming.
Thanks to the pioneering efforts of organic farmers, biologically based methods of growing cotton are emerging. Working with nature rather than against nature, organically grown cotton becomes sustainable.

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 comprehensively addresses the Human Ecology component of textile products. It evaluates and screens for any harmful substances present within processed textiles intended to come into contact with consumers.
The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 encompasses the industries established testing criteria for textile products and also addresses quality assurance and test procedures. It not only takes into account the finished textile goods, but also any associated accessories and "grey" product areas such as fibres, yarns and buttons.
In this standard, the relevant harmful substances are defined together with limiting values, taking into consideration the intended use of the product. For example, the clothing products close to the skin, such as underwear and baby products.
